Modern Warfare 2 First Gameplay Looks Way Better Than Vanguard

Activision has just released our first look at gameplay for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in which we got a short walkthrough of a campaign level.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set to release in October this year, but Activision is giving us a first look at gameplay especialyl early. Revealed at Summer Games Fest, the gameplay trailer gives players a first look at the campaign. It follows the same characters as Modern Warfare 2019, as well as introducing the fan favourite Gaz.

This mission takes place on an oil rig and looks extremely similar to a level from the original Modern Warfare 2. Taskforce 141 is sent to infiltrate the rig and stop a missile from firing, so it’s your typical Call of Duty affair.

Gameplay looks incredibly similar to Modern Warfare 2019, thought that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Gunplay looks extremely tight as the player makes their way through the level with their squad. While things start out fairly tactically, things go loud pretty quickly.

Modern Warfare 2 – First impressions?

The original Modern Warfare 2 is still a fan favourite among players as it doesn’t shy away from depicting the US as perpetrators of war crimes. Hopefully this new title can live up to those expectations and not rewrite history like the previous title did.

Modern Warfare 2 is set to release on October 28th across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. It’s seen a price hike on last gen systems too, so it now costs $70 no matter which console you play on. A new version of Warzone is also set to launch alongside Modern Warfare 2 later this year.
