Armed with a shapeshifting pistol and telekinetic powers, it’s up to you to figure out the mystery behind the Federal Bureau of Control.

4. red dead redemption 2

Rockstar Games took us on an emotional rollercoaster with Red Dead Redemption 2. Serving as a prequel to the acclaimed 2010 predecessor, the tale of an Arthur Morgan and a younger John Marston may just be Rockstar’s finest work of art yet. Full of rich world-building, explosive action and beautiful landscapes, Red Dead Redemption 2 deserves your time.

Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding really is unlike any other single-player games out there. Many labelled the unique title as a “walking simulator”, but the Death Stranding offers up an incredible story across its expansive narrative.

You’ll be turning the world around you into a better place, using the game’s ‘Strand’ multiplayer mechanic to forge new paths and make things easier for your fellow Porters. Give this one a chance, even if it’s just for the great titular Chvrches song.

Returnal is one of the best and more essential single-player experiences for PlayStation 5 owners. Heavily influenced by the likes of sci-fi greats such as Ridley Scott, this haunting journey through time and space warped our minds in the best. Though Returnal might be a punishing game, its rewarding gameplay loop ensures you’ll be coming for more time and time again.

1. hitman 3

IO Interactive’s World of Assassination trilogy redefined Hitman for a new generation. With each entry proving that the stoic killer still had some new moves to show off, Hitman 3 was an incredible climax to the trilogy. Each level is full of seemingly unlimited opportunities, set against gorgeously rendered locations. Few games manage to unleash the imagination of the player like this.
