The Best Budget Razer PC Gaming Setup

When it comes to PC gaming peripherals, the first company that comes to mind for many is Razer. Whilst they’re premium products with a price tag to match, it’s quite possible to look for the best budget Razer PC gaming setup without breaking the bank.

Yes, players can go on Amazon and probably buy a keyboard, mouse and headset for under £40 if they really wanted to. They’d also find themselves chucking them in the bin a couple of months later due to build quality and reliability.

The Best Budget Razer PC Gaming Setup

The one fact about Razer that no one can deny is quality, and we think we’ve found an awesome Razer gaming keyboard, mouse and headset that won’t break the bank whilst keeping quality and reliability in mind.

Here are our top picks, why we picked them and their features:

What We Liked

The overall form factor feels great for claw and palm grips thanks to its ergonomic design and a textured rubber grip on either side. The Speedflex Cable almost makes it feel like this mouse is wireless, which is a massive bonus for PC gamers.

The max sensitivity or DPI (Dots Per Linear Inch) is 20,000, which means this is a super responsive mouse that can change its sensitivity on the fly thanks to its top-mounted selection buttons just under the mouse wheel. They sit just below the top shell of the Deathadder V2 so there’s zero chance of hitting them by mistake too.

Whilst it’s not a heavy mouse, it doesn’t feel like a toy either at 82g. This means players can experience premium-feeling products whilst having no issues flicking the Deathadder V2 around the mousemat for intense firefights. It also features multiple profiles and full chroma support.

What We Didn’t Like

There’s very little to complain about with Deathadder V2 for the price point, although it would be nice to have the option to add more weights and some form of wireless Bluetooth. But again, players are getting a lot of bang for their buck with Deathadder V2

KEYCAPS Regular ABS

What We Liked

Before anyone comments, we know we’re committing a cardinal sin recommending membrane keyboards for gaming, but hear us out. Ornata V2 uses hybrid mecha-membrane switches, giving them a tactile click that’s cushioned. This means it’s still a responsive keyboard without the noise of fully mechanical switches.

These features are also great for hybrid users too, striking a nice balance between the usual keyboard use and essential gaming features. said keys are fully programmable too which is a lovely addition to a budget keyboard. Users simply need to boot up Razer synapse 3 to customise Ornata V2 the way they want. Overall it’s a very user-friendly experience.

Like Deathadder V2, Ornata V2 is fully compatible with Razer Chomas’ 16.8 million colour options. This means players can have their RGB loadout matching and cycling patterns in a uniform fashion. There’s a nice weight and feel to the keyboard overall, with the plush leatherette wrist rest being kept in position thanks to magnets positioned at the bottom of the keyboard and top of the wrist rest respectively.

What We Didn’t Like

Once again there’s a lot to love about Ornata V2 for its price point with next to no glaring issues. What we will say is that this keyboard tries its best to bridge the gap between the membrane and mechanical markets, but there’s nothing like the feel of mechanical keys when gaming. Ornata V2 feels great, but it might be worth spending more to get mechanical keys budget permitting.

What We Liked

The beauty of wired gaming headsets lies in their versatility thanks to the handy 3.5mm jack. That means the Razer Kaira X can be used on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox family and PlayStation 4/5. When looking at the value of a gaming headset, this is a massive feature for multi-platform gamers.

The Razer Triforce 50MM drivers tunes highs, mids and lows separately, which successfully avoids the muffled audio found in other headsets at the same price point. Buyers can look forward to clear sound with full trebles and strong bass.

Headsets can get a bit stuffy due to their closed-ear cup design. Razer Kaira X features a breathable weave design, making long gaming sessions cooler and comfortable. The fixed mic is a Hyperclear Cardioid Mic that suppresses outside noise from the back and sides, making one voice the focus of any audio pickup.

What We Didn’t Like

Once again, we can’t complain given the price point. The one feature we would have liked to see is a detachable mic for those who have a separat

e microphone setup or want to use the headset on the move. Otherwise, this is a well-built headset which excels with its essential features.
