Rainbow Six Siege Honours Fallen Esports Player ‘KiXSTAr’ With In-Game Tribute

The Rainbow Six Siege developer has honoured fallen player/caster KiXSTAr by adding a tribute to him in-game.

Michael “KiXSTAr” Stockley sadly passed away last year on October 11th at the age of 24 years-old. He was a well-known professional player-turned-caster, and news of his death shocked the game’s community.

Now, Ubisoft has added a plaque with KiXSTAr’s logo to the bottom stairs of Plane with the latest update. Players may know this location as the place where he got his famous ace. And now, they’ll be able to see his logo whenever they play the map.

It was in this location where KiXSTAr wiped out five players in less than 10 seconds to score an ace. It’s very thoughtful of the developers to add this tribute in such an iconic spot.

KiXSTAr’s Rainbow Six Legacy

In a statement from his mother and step-father, they said KiXSTAr “worked hard to lift up the R6 Siege community“, and “in turn so many lifted him up as well.” There’s no doubt this is true, and KiXSTAr did a lot to bring positivity to the game.

KiXSTAr played professionally in 2016 with Team Orbit. He later branched out into broadcasting, where he became a caster for the game and earned a reputation for his commentary. KiXSTAr casted many tournaments including the Six Invitational and the Six Mexico Major. He continued to do this role up until he passed away in 2021.

It’s definitely saddening to think of how young he was and how much more he planned to do. However, this tribute should go a long way towards immortalizing him within the game itself. It’s a great tribute by the team working on Rainbow Six Siege and a touching thing to see.
