In a year when Elden Ring has dominated the world, there are still plenty of top games to look forward to in 2022.
There are some massive releases still scheduled for 2022 and we’re dying to play all of them. Let’s go through some of the best games still to release this year.
10. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum
If you’re not too fussed about EA’s upcoming mobile game, players keen to enter the realm of Tolkein once again should mark this on their calendar. The Lord of The Rings: Gollum promises stealth orientated gameplay as you traverse familiar locations such as Cirith Ungol, Mirkwood and Barad-dur tower.
We’re still eagerly awaiting more details of Gollum’s story, so be sure to check back in with us as more news develops.
Release Date: September 1, 2022.
9. Pokémon Scarlet / Violet
Kicking off Gen 9 of Pokémon games for the Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will bring back the classic method of dueling made famous in Gold, Silver and Blue. Both games will take place in a completely new region, as expected with each release.
If you were put off by Pokémon Arceus and its drastic changes to the franchise’s gameplay, then worry not, because Scarlet/Violet are the games for you.
Release Date: November 18, 2022.

8. Forspoken
Luminous Production’s Forspoken aims to take full advantage of the PlayStation 5’s hardware. This enormous open-world game is rooted in smooth traversal and freedom, as players explore the mythical world of Athia.
Hordes of enemies will appear in the world at any time, resulting in boss battles that will test the player to their limits. Forspoken has been delayed several times but we’re sure it’ll be worth the wait.
Release Date: October 11, 2022.

7. Rollerdrome
The latest State of Play showcase had plenty of games to be excited about but Rollerdrome really took us by surprise. Adorned with an art style similar to Sable and gameplay that would make Max Payne proud, this zany shooter looks like a blast.
Rollerdrome comes from Roll7, which is responsible for bringing us the brilliant OlliOlli franchise.
Release Date: August 16, 2022.
6. Saints Row Reboot
The Saints Row franchise disappeared for a while but now it’s returning with a fresh coat of paint. Intended to reboot the franchise back to its gang warfare roots, developer Volition has moved the action to Las Vegas-style locale known as Santo Ileso.
You’ll be getting up to all of the same chaos, be it single-player or co-op, as you wage a war for dominance of the city.
Release Date: August 23, 2022.
